What 2021 Revealed About Global Politics
Ian Bremmer, Ivo Daalder, and Elise Labott explore 2021’s key events and geopolitical trends and consider what 2022 may have in store.
About This Event
The world failed to get back to normal in 2021. The US capitol insurrection, soaring inflation, a global vaccine rollout, devastating new COVID-19 variants, and the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan helped make for a disorienting twelve months. Ian Bremmer, president and founder of Eurasia Group, Council president Ivo Daalder, and founder and CEO of Zivvy Media Elise Labott reflect on a year of disruption, the lessons that 2021 should teach policymakers, and what recent events reveal about the changing geopolitical order.
