About the Speakers

Tammy Duckworth is an Iraq War Veteran, Purple Heart recipient, and former Assistant Secretary of the US Department of Veterans Affairs who was among the first handful of Army women to fly combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She was elected to the US Senate in 2016 after representing Illinois’ Eighth Congressional District in the US House of Representatives for two terms.

Fay Hartog-Levin is a distinguished fellow at the Council where she works on a variety of political, international, and environmental issues. She previously served as the 65th ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of the Netherlands where she was chief of mission of an embassy which included 15 federal agencies, four locations, and over 250 employees.
