Chicago Council on Global Affairs Announces Opening of New Conference Center
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs Tuesday announced it has moved to Prudential Plaza and is opening its own state-of-the-art Conference Center from which it will host and stream events worldwide, enhancing and expanding its ability to engage a global public.
Ranked the No. 1 Think Tank to Watch in the world, the Council has significantly increased its roster of experts, established the flagship Chicago Forum on Global Cities and expanded multimedia offerings, including more online streaming of events.
“This is the start of a new chapter in the evolution of the Council on Global Affairs,” said Ambassador Ivo H. Daalder, president of the Council. “Our new conference space—and the worldwide connectivity it offers—will fundamentally change the way we engage with the public and how we fulfill our mission to provide insight and influence the public discourse on critical global issues.”
In its new Conference Center, the Council will host public and private programs, featuring leading global voices year-round. Public events will be streamed live and incorporate virtual audience Q&A—allowing viewers from around the world to participate. The Council’s inaugural program and fall 2016 schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Conference Center also will feature a state-of-the-art studio that enhances the Council’s digital offerings and enables its experts to connect to broadcast media around the globe. The Council’s roster of experts and fellows are available for insight and interviews on a variety of global issues, including national and global security, the global economy and trade, immigration, food and agriculture, the rise of global cities, water and public opinion.
